Wooow... PINDAD Electric Vehicle (PiEV)

August 5^th 2012 had became one of the most nervous day for half of PT. Pindad (Persero) people. It is because of on that day The Minister of BUMN Dahlan Iskan was visiting PT. PINDAD (Persero) with one of his agenda that seeing the preparation of one of national industry for supporting the industrialization of national electric vehicle. Yes, this is breathtaking, because on that day Pindad had to show the electric vehicle that had requested by Mr. Dahlan two months ago.

In the beginning PINDAD will only make Permanent Magnet Motor that will be the core of moving machine of the electric vehicle. Because of showing the permanent magnet motor only in the celebration of the national technology rising will be a boredom. Mr Dahlan Iskan asked PINDAD to make this with the whole of the car.

In that two months, two divisions of PT PINDAD (Persero) they are Special Vehicle Division (KK) and Machine for Industrial and Services Division MIJAS), having a meeting and collaborating the idea intensively in order to create PINDAD electric vehicle. MIJAS Division have a main task as the maker of permanent magnet motor and KK Division have a task in making and planning from the automotive side which integrated the system of those divisions.

Alhamdulillah, on the day Mr Dahlan came to PT. PINDAD (Persero) electric vehicle of PT Pindad named PiEV (Pindad Electric Vehicle) has been trial. The first person who tried this electric vehicle under the sunlight is Mr Dahlan Iskan.

Electric Vehicle which has been made by PINDAD is kind of City Car with one door on each of the side. This car is designed for 100 km distance with the energy of the battery 21 KWH. This car moved by permanent magnet motor Brushless DC (BLDC) Motor type with 25 Kw power and 400V identification tension.

The making of this electric vehicle is also the moment for testing electric motor which has been made by PINDAD and also the moment of researching and developing this industry where PINDAD will contribute to the distribution of drive train national electric car.
